This 1978 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am is powered by a 403ci V8 paired with a three-speed Turbo-Hydramatic automatic transmission and has been repainted in Martinique Blue over a reupholstered light blue vinyl interior. Equipment includes air conditioning, a RetroSound digital radio, a shaker hood, a Pypes exhaust system, a rear lip spoiler, an engine-turned instrument panel, and 15” snowflake alloy wheels.

The car was finished in Martinique Blue (24) from the factory and was repainted approximately nine years ago. Exterior features include body-colored bumpers, an integrated rear spoiler, a Trans Am hood decal, and fender ducts. An outer door handle, the front Pontiac logo, and drip rail moldings were replaced in 2012, and new weatherstripping was reportedly fitted in 2019. The windshield and rear window appear to have been replaced under previous ownership.
The 15” snowflake alloy wheels feature Firebird center caps and are mounted with white-lettered BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires sized 225/70. The shock absorbers were replaced in 2013 and the brake lines were replaced in 2017. A space-saver spare is stowed in the trunk.
The cabin was lined with Hushmat sound deadening material and reupholstered in light blue vinyl between 2014 and 2015, during which time the carpets, door panels, and headliner were replaced. Amenities include shoulder belts for the front occupants, a RetroSound push-button radio, air conditioning, and power windows. The heater core was been replaced in 2012.
A three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of an engine-turned instrument panel housing a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline, a 100-mph speedometer, and auxiliary gauges. The analog clock is inoperable. The five-digit odometer shows 11k miles but the actual mileage is unknown.
The 403ci V8 is said to have been overhauled in 2012 and a carburetor rebuild was carried out in 2016. Thornton exhaust manifolds have fitted, and a new engine wiring harness, fuel lines, and starter have been installed. The ever popular throttle pedal-actuated flap has been added to the hood scoop!
